I never did get a response

But I do get those stupid “How’s your MP doing!” propaganda mailers…

Such a perty face on that tha’r girl!

To: Rona@ronaambrose.com
Cc: Ambror@parl.gc.caGood day Rona,

I’m writing this letter to receive some clarification on your
decision as environment minister to scrap the “One Tonne Challenge”.

Perhaps you can enlighten me to the necessity of scrapping this
beneficial program that actually started to show results … In my
eyes anything that convinces someone to reduce their energy
consumption in any way whether it be turning off a light, or
unplugging a dormant appliance does wonders for the environment and
climate change as a whole.

Then again perhaps you are one of those individuals who view it as a
“Climate Change Conspiracy” and don’t think it truly exists… If so
perhaps you should put down the Oil Industry trade publication, stop
worrying about your retirement portfolio … (we’ll be funding your
pension now anyways) Look out your window and realize that things are
changing and drastically, start focusing on things that make a
difference for Canada and its citizens. Change will start with the
individual and you just undermined that principal… Lord knows what
fluff you’ll try and have the industries conform to.
So please Rona, do enlighten me of the benefits to the Canadian people
for scrapping the one tonne challenge. If somehow it saves babies, and
stops families from starving then I’m all for it. But you know what
Rona, it was making the world a better place for families and babies.

We’re in a time of surplus … and that surplus has partially been
created by the industries that pollute and destroy the worst (oil/gas)
… which I know you’ll be catering to with open arms. So why not
continue to use our increase in surplus funding available through
these higher returns to make a difference?

Please Rona, stop scrapping the good programs and start working for
Canadians instead of yourself. Maybe while you are at it you can see
fit to increase the royalties that Oil & Gas companies pay … Don’t
even get me started on that one …

Please refrain from responding with platform comments as was your
routine on the childcare issue … I’d like to know the facts, and the
reasoning behind this asinine decision.

Sincerely,

Matthew Smith
